The Python Fu Masters Podcast with Master Hun

Episode 22, Season 1

Episode Notes

Last week I meet with two different after-school program providers, serving public schools in SoCal. I met with two staff members from each of the two. Got lots of good intel from both meetings.

[Note: Since I didn't get permission to mention their organizations or the staff members' names, I can't tell you who I talked to. Sorry.]

To make a long story short, the Feds are doling out millions for coding classes in public schools. But I didn't get a sense those dollars will result in the outcome you would hope for.

The bottom line is student engagement and retention is a real problem I and other CS teachers have to deal with. I don't have a secret formula. No one has a magic bullet.
